In front of the victims' families, the state head reiterated his full support for those who were injured, as well as the direct and indirect victims of the accident, through medical, psychological, assistance, and legal care.
In turn, Sheinbaum recounted that this Monday she was "with some of the hospitalized people and with relatives of those who unfortunately died in the accident."
President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo and the governor of Oaxaca, Salomón Jara, held a meeting in Ciudad Ixtepec with the objective of evaluating the comprehensive care being provided to the victims of the derailment of the Interoceanic Train of the Isthmus of Tehuantepec.
During the meeting, which also included representatives of local and federal agencies, the authorities agreed to expedite the delivery of the bodies to the families of the deceased, with the aim of guaranteeing a dignified and respectful process, as well as providing certainty and accompaniment.
Sheinbaum seeks new international certification for the Interoceanic Train: "The route will be safer."
"We are here coordinating with the Federal Government. In the evening we will meet to evaluate and define the next steps; our priority will always be the support for the people," he added.
The Secretariats of the Interior, Navy and Welfare, as well as IMSS, IMSS-Bienestar and ISSSTE, are attending to each family.
